Spend a brisk fall morning searching for sparrows, warblers, kinglets, and other migratory birds as we saunter through Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. The subdued colors of these songbirds after the nesting season contrast wonderfully with the warm fall foliage hues, making autumn an excellent time to enjoy bird migration! We will review bird identification, ecology, phenology, and more.
For the past 17 years, Alyssa DeRubeis has held numerous field gigs from Alberta to Belize, her niches being bird banding, grassland bird surveys, and nest-searching/monitoring. She has also written seasonal reports for Minnesota's and Wisconsin's ornithological societies, delivered many bird presentations for podcasts and local organizations, and has several local naturalist articles under her belt.
This program is free and open to all. Carpooling options will be offered 2 weeks in advance.
