National Public Lands Day 2026 will be Saturday, September 26. This is a statewide event that provides unique opportunities for Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteers to participate in our largest single-day of service. Locations across the state will have MNats and others out helping to make Minnesota a better place!
Friends and family are welcome to participate, but must be registered to participate. Everyone will sign a photo release upon site registration. All participants will receive a free NPLD MNat t-shirt as a thank you for participating. You can add additional participant names in the comment field.
Registration by September 4th is required to receive a t-shirt. Registration will close on September 18th for participation in the event without a t-shirt.
Clearing buckthorn at WRC's East campus in Grant, MN. We are not knowledgeable about invasive species, so we would also love help assessing the property for any other invasive species of concern. If you have experience with managing invasive species then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! If you are chainsaw certified, they also have some trees that need some attention. Water and snacks will be provided. Bring Tools for buckthorn removal - gloves, loppers, handsaws. You have more experience in this than we do, so any other tools you deem helpful for buckthorn.

Instructor Information
Amy holds a BA in Elementary Education from the College of St. Scholastica and a MEd in Environmental Leadership and Learning from the University of MN. With over 30 years of experience in cooperative extension, Amy's career has been dedicated to intertwining her work with a passion for the environment. Since its inception in 2005, she has been an integral part of the Minnesota Master Naturalist program. Hailing from the Duluth area, Amy is a true native Minnesotan who has always cherished the outdoors, finding joy in sharing her love and knowledge with others.
