National Public Lands Day 2026 will be Saturday, September 26. This is a statewide event that provides unique opportunities for Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteers to participate in our largest single-day of service. Locations across the state will have MNats and others out helping to make Minnesota a better place!
Friends and family are welcome to participate, but must be registered to participate. Everyone will sign a photo release upon site registration. All participants will receive a free NPLD MNat t-shirt as a thank you for participating. You can add additional participant names in the comment field.
Registration by September 4th is required to receive a t-shirt. Registration will close on September 18th for participation in the event without a t-shirt.
Volunteers will be doing Shoreline Trash Cleanup - removing garbage from the shorelines of lakes and rivers on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes in Crosslake. Required: Water bottles, snacks, gloves (rubber or garden gloves), PPE (hats, long pants, long sleeves, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray)
Optional: Trash pickers, buckets, rubber boots, waders, any other desired tools

Instructor Information
Amy holds a BA in Elementary Education from the College of St. Scholastica and a MEd in Environmental Leadership and Learning from the University of MN. With over 30 years of experience in cooperative extension, Amy's career has been dedicated to intertwining her work with a passion for the environment. Since its inception in 2005, she has been an integral part of the Minnesota Master Naturalist program. Hailing from the Duluth area, Amy is a true native Minnesotan who has always cherished the outdoors, finding joy in sharing her love and knowledge with others.
