Volunteer Stewardship Project: Seed Collection-River Terrace Prairie SNA- Cannon Falls website

Sunset Trail
Cannon Falls, MN 55009

Join us in collecting native prairie seed at River Terrace Prairie SNA, a dry sand-gravel prairie perched on a panoramic slope overlooking the Cannon River. This high-quality dry sand-gravel prairie is of statewide significance because of its rarity. Dry sand prairie predominates, but a small oak savanna complements the site.

Tools, instructions, and good camaraderie will be provided. Bring water, lunch, and dress for working in the weather. If you have your own gloves you'd like to use, please bring those as well. Footwear appropriate for outdoor work/hiking is recommended. There are no maintained trails, public restrooms nor access to drinking water on this site.

Directions From Cannon Falls 4.5 miles E on MN Hwy 19, then 2.5 miles N and E on Sunset Trl. Park in pull-off on S.
