Being outdoors at night can be challenging for some, but it is a wholly rewarding world, home to a wide variety of amazing animals. Moths and fireflies usually get a lot of attention when talking about the night, with bats having their own share of appreciation! This Advanced Training will be all about bats: the global diversity, their conservation needs, how to support bats, and we will even spend some time “listening” for bats out and about at dusk. There will be an indoor and outdoor component to this field trip. Plan to be indoors and outdoors during this class at night. Head lamps and/or head lamps will be useful during the outdoor portions of this field trip. Feel free to bring cameras, binoculars, hand lenses, or any other item you might need to experience the outdoors. All walking will take place on level surfaces and trails near the Sax-Zim Bog Welcome Center. Plan on bringing lunch and any other snacks/water you may need for the day.
