The Dakota County SWCD is looking for up to two (2) volunteers to staff an information table during their customer order pickup days for their annual Tree Sale. The Dakota SWCD Tree Sale provides the opportunity for landowners to purchase high quality bare root seedlings at a low cost for urban, suburban, and rural conservation purposes, such as windbreaks, reforestation, erosion control, privacy, and food and cover for wildlife. The trees for sale are native to Minnesota and found in Dakota County, including conifers, hardwoods, small trees, and shrubs. Orders will be available for pick-up at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington on Thursday, April 23rd and Friday, April 24th.
Volunteers will staff an information table during select hours and will be expected to provide general information about best practices around bareroot tree planting, temporary storage of plant material, maintenance recommendations and general tree care considerations. Additional handouts will be available for distribution to help answer any customer questions.
