Volunteer Stewardship Project: Seed Collection website

110th St.
Canby, MN 56220

Join us in collecting native prairie plant seed at Mound Spring Prairie SNA. This SNA is comprised of two parcels quite different in character, separated about a mile as the crow flies. It is located within a landscape of rolling hills formed along an ice margin during the late Wisconsin glaciation, marking an edge where the Des Moines lobe stagnated for a period of time.

Tools, instructions, and good camaraderie will be provided. Bring water, lunch, and dress for working in the weather. If you have your own gloves you'd like to use, please bring those as well. Footwear appropriate for outdoor work/hiking is recommended. There are no maintained trails, public restrooms nor access to drinking water on this site.

Registration in-advance is required. To register, please email sna.dnr@state.mn.us.

Directions From Gary, South Dakota 1.5 mile E on MN Co Rd 4, then 3 miles S on Co Rd 15, 0.5 mile W on Co Rd E3, then 0.4 mile S on 115th St. Park in pull-off on E.
