April Stewardship Event website
10545 Nyberg Ave SHastings, MN 55033
Come help out at Lost Valley Prairie SNA, a beautiful bedrock bluff prairie featuring a series of limestone ridges and dry swales that a number of remarkable plant and animal species call home. Join the Lost Valley Prairie Site Stewards for an early spring hike to find and document plants and wildlife. Learn about the importance of biodiversity and help contribute to the 2025 City Nature Challenge Global iNaturalist Project. Your time and energy observing nature provides valuable data for scientists working on research projects around the world.
If you would like to add observations to the City Nature Challenge project in real time yourself, please download the iNaturalist app on your phone prior to the event. The Site Stewards will provide tips for making helpful observations and good camaraderie. Bring water, lunch, and dress for the weather. If you have your own gloves you'd like to use, please bring those as well. Footwear appropriate for outdoor work/hiking is recommended. There are no maintained trails or recreational facilities on this site.
