ADV - Nature Stories Unbound: Exploring Story through Curiosity, Dayton, MN

Eastman Nature Center website

13351 Elm Creek Road
Dayton, MN 55369

Stories are powerful. They communicate new ideas, expand perspectives, and deepen relationships that can connect and inspire us. This workshop is for anyone who wants to explore nature through creative writing.

Artists and Master Naturalists Zan Tomko and Karen Kopacz will discuss story writing, the creative process, and the art of discovering curiosity and connections within the natural world. In this workshop, you’ll be guided through approaches to finding rhythm in the creative process and becoming curious about nature, and each participant will create one page in a community-created collection of nature stories which will become an unbound book. All levels of experience are welcome. A collection of natural specimens (botanicals, rocks, insects, and other natural curiosities gathered from nature) will be provided for inspiration.

All art supplies will be provided for participants. Hot tea, cookies, and GF cookies will be served. The Eastman Nature Center Campus is available for exploration starting at 9:00 a.m., and the workshop begins at 1:00 p.m.
