National Public Lands Day 2024 is a statewide event that provides unique opportunities for Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteers to participate in our largest single day of service. Locations across the state will have MNats and others out helping to make Minnesota a better place!
Friends and family are welcome to participate, but must be registered to participate. Everyone will sign a photo release upon site registration. All participants will receive a free NPLD branded item and a day pass to a national park as a thank you for participating.
Two projects: Prairie Restoration (Invasive weed removal in prairie pasture area) + tree planting & Aviary Construction for wildlife rehabilitation work.
Anyone versed in carpentry for aviary construction would be amazing, otherwise no special skills needed.
Water bottles, thick gloves, weeding tools if available (shears or diggers for burdock, parsnip, thistle etc.), sturdy boots as pasture is hilly, pants to protect from thistle. Hats for sun protection.
