Learn more about the ecology and natural history of Minnesota's deciduous forests and major riverways at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve, a biological field station with the University of Minnesota. We will get to explore the field station throughout the one-week naturalist course, learning about Minnesota-based scientific research and learning through hands-on activities about the people, plants, animals, geology, and ecosystems. In addition, this introductory course will equip participants with knowledge and skills to share outdoor experiences with youth and families and encourage environmental stewardship in our local communities. Attendance at all sessions is required. Overnight housing is available on-site with an extra fee. For more information about housing, contact Kara Baldwin, baldwink@umn.edu.

Come prepared to spend time outdoors each day. All participants will contribute to a small group capstone service project during the week.
