Come learn about the Big Woods region of Minnesota at Camp Fire MN's beautiful location in Excelsior! Classes will include onsite exploration of the Big Woods biome, hands-on activities, presentations led by Camp Fire's naturalist team and guest speakers, and field trips to amazing natural settings within the Twin Cities. You will learn about geology, plant communities, wildlife, ecology, aquatic systems and human impacts on this region.
All students will complete a capstone service project connecting them to volunteer opportunities at Camp Fire or other local environmental organizations.
The course cost is $295 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Instructor Information
Benjamin has spent his entire career working with young people, and joined Camp Fire MN as a naturalist after completing a degree in Environmental Science and moving into the outdoor education world. Benjamin's professional interests include climate change education, evolutionary biology, ornithology, and low impact living solutions. As a naturalist Benjamin has worked with thousands of young people, supporting Camp Fire's mission of connecting youth from marginalized communities to natural spaces and fostering a love of the outdoors.
