Teach youth the basics of fishing by leading a simple activity during the fishing clinic from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and/or help youth fish along the Red River during the derby from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. (prior fishing experience required for the derby).

Other tasks include:
-Set up fishing poles
-Take down fishing poles
-Registration
-Photographer
-Event writer


No fishing experience necessary to help with the activities, registration, photography, or event writing.

This is a FREE event! The fishing clinic goes from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and the derby goes from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Learn all about casting, knot tying, fish identification and more at the fishing clinic. All (adults included) are welcome and encouraged to participate!

Youth participants 13 and younger can compete and try to reel in a big one during the derby! It is encouraged to bring fishing poles (but a limited number will be available to borrow). Adult supervision is required. Fishing license not required for youth 15 and under. This is a catch and release program. Bait will be supplied. A short award ceremony will follow the derby.
