Winter is a fascinating season full of adventure in Minnesota! So much to observe and learn from animals of the big woods. This course will cover why winter happens and how wildlife responds to our winter climate. It focuses on ecological concepts like brumation and supercooling. Part of the class will be indoors and part outdoors. We have snowshoes for participant if conditions require it. Dress for being outdoors up to 2 hours.

The course cost is $30 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Instructor Information

Anne Jaeger

Anne has been an outdoor educator for over 25 years and is known for creating adventuresome and safe learning experiences for people ages 3 to 93 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), a Leave No Trace (LNT) Master Educator, PSIA Nordic ski instructor and is currently fascinated with mushrooms. Her world travels have taken her from the rivers and eskers of the Arctic Circle to the mountains and glaciers of Patagonia.
