Grab your camera and lenses and join us for a dose of inspiration and fun! We will spend time in the field, practicing a variety of techniques to light and capture images of plants, insects, animals or whatever we find on the grounds of the reserve. When we return indoors, we will discuss methods for downloading, organization, storage, and processing. (the processing section will be a practical overview).
Please come prepared with your camera and any accessories you regularly use or would like to learn how to use more effectively (lenses, flash, tripod, spare battery or charger, etc). The class will take place rain or shine.
Note: This skills session follows the August 9 online event. Participants should attend the online portion or view the recording before the August 16 in-person event.
The course cost is $35 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Instructor Information
Britt Forsberg (she/her/hers) is an Engagement Coordinator with Thriving Earth Exchange at the American Geophysical Union. In this role, she supports communities as they address their environmental priorities. She holds a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College and an MEd in Family Education from the University of Minnesota. She has taught each of the biome courses but lives in the Big Woods with her family. She gained an appreciation for bees through her work with the Minnesota Bee Atlas but can't break the habit of keeping her eyes on the ground to look for plants.
