VOL - Wildlife Tracking at Cannon River Trout lily SNA

Wildlife Tracking at Cannon River Trout lily SNA website

Cannon River Trout Lily SNA
Faribault, MN 55021

We will stroll along and near Cannon River, an important water source for many species of birds, mammals, insects, reptiles, and amphibians, looking for their tracks and signs. Tracking is a great way to observe and understand animals in a way you've never done before! Whether you have never been tracking or you're a tracker specialist, there will be something for you at this event. See the Cannon River Trout Lily SNA web page for a map and description of the site. Advanced registration is required, and the event will be capped at 25 attendees. To register, please email sna.dnr@state.mn.us. We want all visitors to feel safe and welcome. Please consider wearing a face covering when unable to maintain 6-feet of social distance. Dress for the weather. Footwear appropriate for outdoor hiking is recommended. Waterproof shoes would be best since we will be walking along the river. There are no maintained trails or recreational facilities on this site. Directions: From Faribault 1.5 miles N on MN Hwy 3, then 0.5 mile E on 166th St, staying right on field road as 166th turns N. Park at dead end. Contact: Tieran Rosefield, SNA Volunteer Outreach Specialist, at 651-259-5165 or tieran.rosefield@state.mn.us
