Want to participate in community science and enjoy the outdoors this summer? Then this self-guided BioBlitz at Oronoco Prairie SNA is a perfect opportunity for you. For two weeks, head over to Oronoco Prairie SNA anytime that works for you and make some iNaturalist observations or help identify observations from home. Additionally, on the first day of the event, Friday, July 15 at 6pm, SNA staff will be onsite offering support with using iNaturalist, identifying observations, and navigating the site. Please email sna.dnr@state.mn.us to register for the in person portion of this event. To participate, sign up on iNaturalist by joining the Oronoco Prairie SNA Self-guided BioBlitz Project and read the journal postings, in which you'll find event updates, guidelines and tips, before visiting the site. At the end of the two weeks there will be prizes! Results will be shared with participants, and verified research grade observations will be featured on iNaturalist. During your visit, please wear sturdy footwear, long pants, and be prepared to navigate rough terrain. Can't make it there? Stay tuned for future self-guided BioBlitzes throughout the state. Remember, you contribute by making observations on any SNA near you! Directions: From Oronoco 1 mile S on US Hwy 52, then 2 miles E on Co Rd 112, then continue S on Co Rd 112 for 0.3 mile.
