ADV - Women\'s Snow Day
East Bethel, MN 55005
Calling all women wilderness explorers! Join us for a half-day of winter learning and fun with Cedar Creek’s GreenCorps member Savanna Henning. Hike and/or snowshoe to Cedar Bog Lake to look for animal tracks and experience tallgrass prairie, white cedar swamps, and hardwood forest in all their frosty, winter glory. Sip some tasty hot cocoa as you learn about winter tree ID and take time to reflect with a nature journaling activity. Please dress appropriately and be prepared for winter hiking. Registration fee goes toward snacks and hot cocoa, with remaining funds will support Cedar Creek's K-12 education program. Ages 12+. Questions can be directed to Savanna Henning at firstname.lastname@example.org.
(want to join in, but only free on the weekends? This program is also offered on Saturday, January 22nd!)
The course cost is $6 and includes course manuals and supplies.
Meeting from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on:

Dr. Potter is the education and community engagement coordinator at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. Her background is in wildlife ecology, and she holds a B.S. in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology as well as a masters and Ph.D in ecology and evolutionary biology. She studied wildlife and animal behavior all over the world (mostly monkeys in Ethiopia) before finding her true passion doing environmental education! Now, she runs school field trips and public events at CCESR, works with scientists to get their results into the hands of students, and organizes several citizen science projects.
