Have you always wanted to learn more about the natural world around you? Then this is the class for you. This class will focus on the Big Woods, Big Rivers biome. The St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota has many excellent opportunities to learn about plants and animals. See some behind the scenes places not readily available to others.

Topics to be covered include: animals, birds, water quality and chemistry, geology, ecology, human impacts and more. All students will complete a group capstone project in class.

Classes are a mix of in-class instruction, field trips and small group activities. Attendance at all class sessions is required for graduation.

The course cost is $295 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Amy Rager

Amy received a BA in Elementary Education from the College of St. Scholastica and a MEd in Environmental Leadership and Learning from the University of MN. She has worked for cooperative extension for 29 years in various positions, but has always tied her work to the environment.
