ADV - Interpreting Nature in Late Winter-Sax Zim Bog

Sax-Zim Bog-Interpreting Nature in Late Winter website

March can feel incredibly long in northern Minnesota. It isn’t quite spring, but winter still has not left the region and we are all getting excited for what April has to bring. March also tends to be a month with lots of things starting to happen outdoors: Woodpeckers start courting, insects are starting to warm up and move about, and even some mammals (like skunks!) are starting to wake up and move around. This Advanced Training will be a general naturalists dream, as we will cover a little bit of everything; from plants, to fungi, to tracks and sign, to birds, and more! Plan on being outside for the length of the class and be prepared for some hiking through more unpredictable conditions.

** This class will be meeting at the Meadowlands Community Center (7758 Western Ave, Meadowlands, MN).

Plan on bringing a lunch and any other snacks and water you may need for the day. There will be some hiking done in wintery conditions, so do prepare for uneven footing.

The course cost is $40 and includes course manuals and supplies.
