Plant diversity is not often discussed in winter field exploration. Perhaps this is because much of the plant life in northern Minnesota is covered under feet of snow! Or perhaps, this is due to the fact that no greenery is left for us to identify. This Advanced Training will focus on tips and tricks to identifying winter plant life; whether it be trees, shrubs, ferns, grasses and sedges, or flowering plants. By the end of this training we should hope to have a good understanding of some common northern Minnesota trees, shrubs, and plants during the winter season. My hope is that this class will help spur your own investigations of winter vegetation in your local park or backyard!

** This class will be meeting at the Meadowlands Community Center. (7758 Western Avenue, Meadowlands, MN) **

Plan on bringing a lunch and any other snacks and water you may need for the day. There will be some walking on uneven terrain.

The course cost is $50 and includes course manuals and supplies.
