Goals of Position: Run a crew of volunteers to help preserve, protect, and restore natural areas and vital ecosystems in Saint Paul. With over 2,000 acres of natural areas in Saint Paul, our Environmental Services staff simply can’t do it alone. Crew Leaders are an integral part of natural resource management in Saint Paul’s parks and natural areas.

Location: Restored habitat in Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary in Saint Paul Hours: Must attend Crew Leader training in March. From April to October, meet groups of volunteers (10-20 people) one Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of every month. Our Tuesday and Thursday events are from 5:30-7:30pm and Saturdays from 9-11am. The Crew Leaders work in pairs and rotate shifts, but plan on volunteering at least once a month. Projects: Our staff will determine the projects for each volunteer event and it will be emailed out to you inadvance. Examples of some of the projects are; removing invasive species, hauling brush, community science, planting and seed collection. All tools needed for the projects are provided and onsite. Impact: As an EcoSteward Crew Leader, each time you volunteer, you will be actively protecting and restoring Saint Paul’s natural areas and helping accomplish vital environmental work for our region.
