ADV - I can teach ... in the Outdoors-Conservation Days Instructor Training
St Paul, MN 55108-6112
Learn skills needed to deliver engaging activities for youth at conservation days and water festivals.
Do you enjoy teaching conservation with young people?
This training will cover the fundamentals of leading outdoor conservation and water festival activities for young people. It will emphasize the “best practices” for the field day programs with hands-on engaging materials. It will use the Best Practices for Field Days and Project Wet curriculum to prepare volunteers to lead age appropriate activities for the upcoming Children’s Water Festival held September 28th, 2017 at the State Fair Grounds. If you teach at other events this training is appropriate for you too!
No teaching experience required, only an interest in getting kids excited about what is happening in nature and the willingness to share it with others. Learn in this hands-on classroom where you will practice leading activities, maybe get wet feet (metaphorically) and share your insight. Dress appropriately for the weather in September.
Why participate? Teaching is great fun and a way to make nature come alive in your upcoming community programs! Working with a local school or youth organizations is an excellent way to share your love a nature, from birds to plants, insects and wildlife!
