Live in the metro area but still want to take the North Woods Great Lakes course? This class is designed for you. We will have our classes in the Metro area at Wildlife Science Center and a field trip weekend around the area of Jay Cooke State Park.
Housing for the field trip weekend will be at the Cloquet Forestry Center in dorm rooms that are like hotel rooms and kitchen facilities. We offer single and double occupancy dorm-style rooms with private baths in a beautiful northwoods setting. Kitchen facilities are available within each lodging unit. Cost: Lodging is optional and there are two options: $42.75 per person, per night, for a single room, and 32.07 per person per night for a double room. Linens are included. This will be added onto your registration fee of 200.00. No pets allowed. Meals will be on your own.
Attendance at all sessions and the entire field trip is required to complete the class.
There are Weekends on the schedule: Saturday, September 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Carlos Avery Game Farm. Field trips will be September 14 & 15 at Cloquet Forestry Center.
The course cost is $200 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Instructor Information
My volunteer time in Minnesota is less since our move to Alabama in January 2022. I still volunteer for the Minnesota Herpetological Society and several on-line citizen science projects. I am also President of the North Metro Chapter.
I have been a volunteer for the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program since 2007, and an instructor since 2010. I am the former Outreach Director for the International Wolf Center. I have been a facilitator for Project Learning Tree, and WILD through the Minnesota DNR since 2006. I am a member of MNA, MAEE, and a member of the Minnesota Herpetological Society since 2006, served on the board from 2014-2016. I also volunteered for the Wildlife Science Center for 18 years.
