NPLD Camp Ripley
Little Falls, MN 56345
Join staff from Camp Ripley for this year's National Public Lands Day! Camp Ripley has 18 miles of undisturbed Mississippi shoreline that needs a bit of help. Volunteers will be responsible for helping Camp Ripley's Environmental Office remove spotted knapweed from a segment of the shoreline. And to work with Camp Ripley Natural Resources staff and Staff from Prairie Restorations, Inc., to seed a prairie resortation. Participants will learn about how the site was prepped, seed stock chosen and how to properly plant the material. This is a new and exciting site that will have other volunteer opportunities in the future. They are looking for some committed long-term volunteers, so if that is YOU, come and learn about the site and projects!
It's recommended that participants bring a pair of work gloves, a long sleeve shirt, and long pants.
