Join life-long learners for a monthly lunch and learn series at Cedar Creek! Bring your own lunch and hunger for knowledge, we will provide the brain food! Each month, scientists will present a general-audience lecture about their work at or related to Cedar Creek. Please wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather.

Cristy Portales Reyes is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior at the University of Minnesota. Her research studies how adding nutrients to ecosystems reduces plant diversity in grasslands and prairies, and what actions can help increase or restore plant diversity. She hopes that her research can help people manage ecosystems to be more resistant to change and to restore biodiversity in affected areas. She has worked at Cedar Creek since 2015 and loves being able to work with and appreciate the diversity of organisms at the field station.
