Course Dates: 6pm to 8pm on 10/8, 10/10, 10/15, 10/17, 10/22, 10/24, 11/7, 11/12, 11/14, 11/19, 11/21

Field Trip Dates: 9am to 5pm on Saturdays 10/19 and 11/16. Optional transportation provided to field trip locations.

Join Bell Museum staff on a journey through Minnesota’s deciduous forest biome! We will be learning about the history, flora, fauna, and ecosystems of the greater Twin Cities metro area through hands-on nature and science experiences alongside professional science educators, University researchers, and community knowledge-holders. This course includes two required all-day field trips to locations around the greater metro area with optional transportation provided. All participants will complete a small group capstone service project.

The course cost is $295 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Ashley Oneill Prado

Ashley Prado (they/them) is a Minnesota Master Naturalist and the Statewide Schools and Community Engagement Coordinator at the Bell Museum. They hold a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Vassar College and advanced training in youth programming and community engagement. Ashley is an experienced educator leading youth science programs including food and environmental justice and stewardship issues. For the Bell Museum, Ashley developed and manages the Bell Museum Statewide Summer Camp located at the North Central Research and Outreach center in Grand Rapids, among other k-12 and community programs.
