Winter Tree Identification Workshop-St. Paul website

1536 Cleveland Ave. N
St. Paul, MN 55108

Ever wonder how foresters identify trees? This workshop on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota will take participants on a walk outside to learn the various ways to identify some of Minnesota's most common trees and invasive woody plants.

Summer identification focuses heavily on leaf structure. This winter identification workshop will discuss how to use bark patterns, color, texture and tree shape to help identify winter trees.

Parking is available for an hourly fee in Lot S106, and some meters are available in the St. Paul Gymnasium Lot. Course will take place outdoors. Please dress for the weather and be prepared for a moderate amount of walking. Contact the course instructors to discuss accessibility accommodations.

The course cost is $20 and includes course manuals and supplies.
